Unbeaten Bengal seal Ranji Trophy quarterfinals berth
with a game in hand

Riding on a brilliant all-round performance, Bengal outclassed Services by an innings and 46 runs in their Ranji Trophy Elite match at the Bengal Cricket Academy, Kalyani on Sunday.
With 30 points from six games, having won four matches in Elite Group C, Bengal book a place in the quarterfinals with a game to play against Haryana.
After posting a massive 519 in their first innings, Bengal bowled out Services for 186 to bag a big lead.
Following on, Services, in their second innings, were bowled out for 287.
Shami (5-51) ripped apart the Services batting line-up in their second innings while Mukesh Kumar (2-56), Suraj Sindhu Jaiswal (1-27), Akash Deep (1-89) and Shahbaz (1-42) also impressed.
In the first innings, Suraj bagged four, Akash Deep three, Shami two and one wicket for Shahbaz Ahmed.
"With two senior players Sudip Chatterjee and Md Shami performing for the team is indeed a special moment. It will be great to end the group stage unbeaten if we can win against Haryana in our final Group game. We are looking forward to that," Bengal captain Abhimanyu Easwaran said.
