Unbeaten Bengal enter quarterfinals
of Women’s U-19 One-Day Trophy

An unbeaten Bengal team stormed into the quarterfinals of the Women’s Under-19 One-Day Trophy on Sunday.
With an all-win record in the group stage encounters, Bengal defeated Odisha by 4 wickets in Bengaluru on Sunday to seal a place in the last-eight stage.
After five wins from as many matches, Bengal top Group A with 20 points. Bengal next play the quarterfinal match on January 20.
Batting first, Odisha were bundled out for 154 in 50 overs. Jahanbi Raj Paswan (2-22), Monika Mal (2-22) and Koyel Sarkar (2-26) impressed with the ball for Bengal while Bidisha Dey and Priyanka Goldar claimed one each.
In reply, Bengal were in trouble at 28/5 inside 11 overs. Against the run of play, Priyanka Prasad (63 not out) and Trishita Sarkar (51) added a brilliant 123-run partnership for the sixth wicket as Bengal scored 157/6 in 43.2 overs.
