Parvej (9-41), Jayveer (154), Vaman (5-24), Nabankur (106) star in First Div Two-Day meet

In the CAB First Division League Group two-day encounters on Thursday, both the batsmen and bowlers dominated on Day 1, displaying some outstanding performances.
In the first match, Parvej Alam (9-41) was superb with the ball as Calcutta Port Trust Sports Club beat Netaji Subhas Institute by 5 wickets. Batting first, Netaji Subhas Institute scored 109. In reply, Calcutta Port Trust Sports Club scored 113/5.
In other matches, Jayveer (154 not out), Ankush Sur (62), Shekhar Singh Chauhan (54) helped Sporting Union post 374/9. Monohar Pukur Milan Samity’s Shaban Khan bagged 3 for 27.
Vaman Sharma (5-24), Sk Ajharuddin (4-19) were brilliant with the ball as Rajasthan Club beat Calcutta Police Club by 5 wickets. Batting first, Calcutta Police Club scored 101. In reply, Rajasthan Club scored 104/5.
Nabankur Ghosh (106), Punit Yadav (53) helped Indian Boys Athletic Club post 237. For Uttarpalli Milan Sangha, Saumya Pakray (5-75) and Faizanul Rehman (4-91) impressed. In reply, Uttarpalli Milan Sangha were 15/0 at stumps.
Avinash Yadav (5-69) helped Shambazar Club bundle out BNR Recreation Club for 207. In reply, Shambazar Club were 68/2 at stumps.
Swagato Gangopadhyay (62) and Sanjib Kumar Sharma (62) helped Ananda Bazar Patrika Sports Club score 263. Pijush Laha (3-64), Pravin Rokde (3-103) were impressive with the ball for YMCA (College Branch).
