East Bengal & Bhowanipur bag easy wins in CAB First Division League

In the CAB First Division Super League Group A encounters on Thursday, both the batters and bowlers dominated on the third and final day.
In the first match, Vikas Singh (7-37, 2-48) and Writtick Chatterjee (5-40, 2-28, 40) impressed as East Bengal Club beat Barisha Sporting Club by 7 wickets.
Earlier, after bowling out Barisha Sporting for 163, East Bengal Club posted 249 in their first innings. Barisha, in their second innings, were bundled out for 147 to hand a small target to East Bengal. Writtick bagged a five-wicket haul. Chasing the target, East Bengal went over the line scoring 63/3.
In the second match, Rajkumar Pal (4-59, 5-63), Ravi Kumar (4-15, 1-39) and Aamir Gani (4-63) were brilliant with the ball as Bhowanipur Club beat Mohun Bagan by 136 runs.
Earlier, after posting 307 in their first innings, Bhowanipur bundled out Mohun Bagan for 111. Bhowanipur, in their second innings, scored 153/6 decl. to hand a tough target to Mohun Bagan. Chasing the target, Mohun Bagan were bowled out for 213. Shantanu (91 not out) and Mehul Chaudhary (69) were the pick of the batters.
In the third match, Mohammedan Sporting Club and Calcutta Customs Club ended in a draw.
Nayan Chavan scored a brilliant unbeaten 142 along with Ashray Jha (78) as Calcutta Customs Club scored 350/9 In their first innings. Nilkantha Das (3-82) and Vaibhav Yadav (3-106) impressed. Earlier, Toufik Uddin smashed 167 off 116 balls along with Sambit Roy (114) as Mohammedan Sporting Club posted 387. For Calcutta Customs Club, Sandipan bagged 5 for 86.
In the fourth match, Pramod Chandila (51, 105), Writam Porel (130 off 197), Shreyansh Ghosh (51) and Arun Chaprana (4-74) helped Kalighat Club bag first innings lead after their match against Town Club ended in a drawn.
For Town, Yudhajit Guha (4-93, 2-30) impressed. After posting 403/9 in their first innings, Kalighat Club bowled out Town Club for 281. Almas Shaukat scored 53. Kalighat, in their second innings, were 265/3 at stumps.
