Innings defeat in first division

Mohamadan Sporting, Tapan Memoial and Bhowanipore club created history today recording the first ever innings victories in the first division league this session, played under the new set of rules.
While Mohamaden Sporting beat BNR club by an innings and 100 runs, Tapan Memorial beat Bhukailash Sporting Club by an innings and 246 runs. Bhowanipore won by an innings and 11 runs beating Young Bengal Association.
“It was a great feeling being the man of the match. I played for my team and handing an innings defeat to the opposition was not easy. I will like to carry on my form in the matches to come,” said Promod Chandila of Tapan Memorial, who scored 251 runs.
Abhishek Kumar Raman of Bhowanipore said, “It was a team effort. We defeated the opposition by an innings in the new format, and I am really feeling good for it. We are a balanced side and I hope we do well in the matches to come.”
In few of the other matches, MohunBagan beat Police Athletic club by 250 runs, while Aryan Club won by ten wickets beating ABP Sporting.
Among the wicket takers, Ravikant Singh bagged 5 for 74, while Tanmoy Pramanick took 6 for 96. Also, Shamshad Hassan and Pritam Chakraborty took 5 wickets each.
Abir Das smashed 107 off 187 balls, while Prasenjit Kumar Das hit 165 off 223 balls.
