Maidan giants in control; Durgesh's six-for puts
Bhowanipore in command

Maidan giants Mohun Bagan and East Bengal both have showed domineering attitude in their respective matches thanks to their batters in CAB First Division League tournament Group A (3 days) today.
Vivek Singh gave Bagan a good start with a swift 73-ball 72 before being caught by Town Club's Bidyut Adhikari off Avilin Ghosh while Sudip Chatterjee continued his fine form with the willow as the Bengal veteran stayed unbeaten on 94. At the end of the day's play Bagan's scoreboard read 235/2.
Earlier resuming the day on 235/5 Town Club lost rest 5 wickets for a paltry 52 runs thanks to MB bowler Nilkantha Das who grabbed a five-wicket haul.
East Bengal in another match bhuried Police Athletic Club under pile of runs declaring on 535/5 and reduced opponents to 74/2 at the end of the second day.
Abhishek Mitra missed out on a well deserved double ton by 12 runs while another Bengal senior team member Anustup Majumder hit 78 off 81 balls to male things worse for Town bowlers.
Durgesh Kumar Dubey was the star for Bhowanipore Club as he picked up 6 wickets for 23 runs to leave Aryan Club reeling on 95/9.
After declaring on 418/4 Durgesh danced through Aryan batting line up to put them in the driver's seat while in another Tapan Memorial trail by 102 runs against Barisha Sporting.
Prabhat Maurya and Ramesh Prasad were at their best to grab 4 wickets apiece and fold Barisha for 323 runs while Tapan Memorial batter Sachin Kumar played a patient innings to remain unbeaten on 86.
Abhishek Raman's ton and Mithilesh Das' 151-ball 85 powered Kalighat Club end the day with a 182-run lead over Sporting Union.
In a brave move Kalighat decided to declare on 329/6 in search for an outright and opponents were 26 for no loss at the stumps.
