Jagmohan Dalmiya remembered with affection on first Death Anniversary

Kolkata, Sep 20: It's been a year since the country bid an emotional farewell to cricket administrator Jagmohan Dalmiya.
On his first death anniversary, Cricket Association of Bengal paid homage to the inspirational leader, by organizing an immemorial.
Earlier in the day CAB President Sourav Ganguly and Mr Dalmiya’s son CAB Joint-Secretary Avishek Dalmiya paid their homage before leaving city on official work.
Besides love for cricket, Mr. Dalmiya was also involved with social works, 'Eradication of Blindness’ which included restoration of eyesight through cornea grafting and transplantation, was a step taken by him to promote eye donation.
“He started this initiative long back and wanted no one should suffer from blindness.
Today he is not here but his blessing will always be there with us”, said Biswarup Dey, Treasurer, Cricket Association of Bengal.
His wife, Chandralekha Dalmiya also inked for donating her eyes, following the footsteps of her late husband.
Also present were his daughter Baishali Dalmiya and daughter-in-law Koeli Dalmiya besides CAB officials and members.
“For me Eden Gardens is an extension of my family. From my childhood I have seen his passion for cricket and his dedicated service for the betterment of the game. I am really indebted that he was remembered so fondly,” said Baishali.
