Paikpara score big; Belgachia, Customs victorious

Paikpara Sporting Club piled up a huge total of 471/8 at the end of the first day's play against Eastern Railway Sports Association thanks to Karan Lal's fluent century in CAB First Division League tournament today.
Karan hit 112 off 114 balls while Railway bowler Rajesh Oraon grabbed a six-wicket haul leaking 143 runs.
Belgachia United Club and Calcutta Customs Club were victorious from the two matches continued from yesterday.
Satyajeet Roy and B Arun picked up 3 wickets apiece to help Belgachia beat BNR Recreation by 60 runs while Sougata Dutta (65), Ishan Chaterjee (53 not out) half-centuries powered Customs to a 5-wicket win over Kumartuli Institute.
Kolkata Union Sporting Club need more 215 runs to win against Ballygunge United after restricting the latter to 241 all out thanks to Ajay Kumar Yadav's 5 for 77 runs.
In another match Ananda Bazar Patrika Sports Club lost an early wicket in just 4 overs as they finished with a score of 12/1 against Dalhousie Athletic Club.
Earlier riding on Souvick Ghosh's four-for ABP bundled out Dalhousie for 271 runs.
