Sahapur Sporting bowler Diptarka Deshmukh grabbed a 8-wicket haul to hand his team a huge 109-run victory against Gymkhana in CAB Second Division League tournament today.
Defending 369 runs Diptarka picked up 8 wickets leaking 103 runs while Amit Kumar Pandey's six-for inspired Calcutta Rangers Club thrash Friends Sporting Union by 345 runs.
Young Bengal Sporting Association chased down a low target of 154 runs losing just 3 wickets against Balak Sangha while Tapas Kundu took 5 wickets to help Cricket Club of Dhakuria defend their low total of 168 runs by successfully bundling out Uttarpalli Milan Sangha 37 runs short off the target.
Mudit Prabhakar Rai was the lone centurion of the league today as the Behala Friends Union batter smashed 144 off 127 balls to beat Central Calcutta Sporting by 2 wickets.
In other matches Taltala Ekata Sangha edged past Howrah Sporting by 13 runs, Alipore Sporting Club were beaten by 7 wickets by Calcutta Police Club while Sk Akhtar Ali and Bhupinder Singh took 3 wickets apiece to power Shibpur Institute to a 97-run win against Albert Sporting Club.
