All-round Bagan in command

Mohan Bagan's all-round show put them in the driver's seat against Bhowanipur as the maidan giants ended the second day with a huge 384-run lead in CAB First Division group A League tournament (3 days) today.
Resuming the day on 328/6 Bagan rode on Arindam Ghosh (97) and Ayan (75 not out) half-centuries to declare on a mammoth 526/9 and thanks to Nilkanta Das (3-52) and Sourav Mondal (2-17) who shared 5 wickets between them reduced opponents to 142/6.
Bagan's arch rival East Bengal also are in good position with a 132-run lead over Sporting Union.
Earlier resuming the day on 19 for no loss EB declared on 323/3 as Abhishek Mitra hit 110 off 160 balls along with Writam Porel (66) and Soham Ghosh (63 not out) half-centuries while Sporting's scorecard read 18 for no loss.
In other matches Police Athletic trail by 263 runs losing 3 wickets chasing a huge score of 405 runs scored by Kalighat in the first innings and Aryan Club lead by 145 runs as they made 337/5 at the end of the day riding on Gitimoy Basu (123) century and Prinan Dutta's patient 175-ball 90.
Aftet bundling Shambazar out for a paltry 140 runs Tapan Memorial put on a dominating performance with the bat today to declare on 354/9 and reduce their opponents to 18/1.
Memorial batter Gaurav Chauhan was another centurion of the day who scored 107 while Dain Karim and Toufik Uddin picked up 3 wickets apiece for Shambazar.
