Bengal eves enter semifinals

Bengal eves continue their superb run in the Senior Women's One Day League as they qualified for the semifinals defeating Baroda by 77 runs today.
Bengal were absolutely ruthless in the match as they defended their 174-run total by bundling opponents out for 97 runs.
An elated CAB Jt. Secretary Avishek Dalmiya said: "Congratulations to the team for entering the semifinals. The journey gets tougher from here. Railways are a good opponent but we are confident of putting on a good show and march ahead."
Electing to bat first top five Bengal batters scored most of the runs to post 174 runs all out in 48.2 overs.
Prativa highest scored for Bengal with a 76-ball 37 along with Deepti (33), Tanushree (25) and Mandira Mahapatra (25) while Baroda bowlers N Patel and Tarannum Pathan picked up 3 wickets apiece.
While defending Bengal eves lassoed opponents' batters from the very beginning as skipper Jhulan removed B Surti (1) in the third over.
Bengal skipper Jhulan Goswami said: "We have played really well as a team. We did not post a huge score but our bowlers successfully defended that score. We have successfully executed our plans. We are in the semifinals, it's a good feeling."
After that Bengal eves picked up wickets in regular intervals which did not let any Baroda batter settle on the crease.
Foe Bengal Tanushree Sarkar took 3 wickets for 19 runs while Shubh Lakshmi, Deepti, Pandey picked up 1 wicket apiece and N Maji finished with a figure of 2-13.
