Kiwis cant cook Indian curry: Murali
16th September 2016
Iconic Sri Lankan spinner Muttiah Muralitharan feels the New Zealand team can plan all they want, but they dont have the recope to cook Indian curry.
"They can plan anything but the curry is not for them, they eat only bread and butter. So I think you can’t get the curry flavour from them. Indian spinners will play much better, Indian batsmen will play well. Conditions will favour India," Murali told CAB media team.
Asked about the plan that the Kiwis have done ahead of the tour, Murali said: "The spin.trio of India are more experienced and will have the conditions favouring them."
They have Mitchel Santner, Henry Nichols and Ish Sodhi to counter India's trio of Ravinder Jadeja, Ravichandran Ashwin and Amit Mishra.
Coming to Bengal and its talent pool, Murali said: "There are a lot of talent. In the senior team we have Ojha. Everyone knows him. There are upcoming bowlers are Aamir Ganni, Pradipta Pramanik and Anurag Tiwari. There are others who are doing quite well. If they play for Bengal then the spin attack will be very strong."
Praising CAB President Sourav Ganguly for his Vision 2020 project, he said the former Indian skipper is masterminding a 'cricket revolution'. "By 2020 he wants to produce good bowlers and batsmen. If we continue in this way we will definitely make something big happen. Bengal will have a strong supply line."
Talking about thr next generation of spinners from Sri Lanka, Murali said: "We have a lot od talent coming up, but Tharindu Kaushal is the best of the lot. He was called for the doosra, but now he has rectified his actions and he should be back soon."
