Gharami slams 299 as Bengal end Day 4 on top in
Ranji quarterfinals

Sudip Kumar Gharami played a knock to remember for the ages, smashing a brilliant 299 as Bengal ended Day 4 in total control against Andhra in the Ranji Trophy Elite quarterfinals at the Bengal Cricket Academy, Kalyani on Monday.
Gharami, who missed out on the 300 milestone by just a run, hit 31 fours and 6 sixes in his 596-ball innings.
Shakir Habib Gandhi (95), Sumanta Gupta (81) also impressed while Md Shami smashed a quick-fire 53 off 33 balls to power Bengal to a massive 629 in their first innings.
In their second innings, Andhra were struggling at 64/3, trailing by 270 runs at the end of the fourth and penultimate day.
Akash Deep, Suraj Sindhu Jaiswal and Shahbaz Ahmed claimed one wicket each.
