Karnataka hand Delhi embarrassing defeat

Karnataka today put the final nail on Delhi's coffin beating them by an innings and 160 runs on the third day of a Group-B Ranji Trophy match here at the Eden Gardens, Kolkata. Delhi were shot out for 164 within 43 overs.
Beginning the day trailing by 324 runs, Delhi started losing wickets at regular intervals. They lost two early wickets, that of G Gambhir (2) and D Shorey (0), for 11 and never got back on track.
The only batsmen who tried to give a fight back were Unmukt Chand who scored 38 and V Sood who made a dogged 41 to give them any semblence of fightback.
For Karnataka, K. Gowtham was the pick of the bowlers taking 5 for 35 in 9 overs. He was backed by A. Mithum and S. Gopal with two wickets each.
With the win Karnataka will get 7 points, totalling 10 from two matches in the league table. While Delhi will return empty handed with 8 points from 3 matches.
