CAB felicitates Anustup on his 100th First-Class
landmark

Bengal veteran batsman Anustup Majumdar, who will be playing his 100th First-Class match, was felicitated by The Cricket Association of Bengal’s top brass on Wednesday.
The 41-year-old Anustup will be reaching the milestone when Bengal faces Services in their Ranji Trophy Elite Group C match at the Bengal Cricket Academy, Kalyani on Thursday.
Post the team’s pre-match practice session on Wednesday, CAB Hony Secretary Bablu Kolay and CAB Treasurer Sanjay Das felicitated Anustup with a special ‘No. 100 Bengal jersey’ and a special Bengal cap.
Anustup’s Bengal team members also handed him a ‘No. 100 Bengal jersey’ signed by his teammates.
Praising Anustup, CAB Secretary Mr Kolay said, “After scaling 100th match in List A, you now reach the same landmark at the First-Class level as well, this is indeed a great achievement. From U19 cricket to senior, you have been consistent for Bengal. Even now, Anustup steps up whenever team needs him. On behalf of CAB, we wish you the best and hope you score lots of runs in next matches.”
CAB Treasurer Mr Das also lauded Anustup for standing tall with the bat whenever the team needed him.
Bengal head coach Laxmi Ratan Shukla said, “Playing 100 First class matches is a big achievement. He has been a match-winner for Bengal for a long time. I hope he continues doing so in the next matches as well.”
Thanking CAB and his teammates, Anustup said, “I would like to thank CAB, my teammates and all my clubs I played, for believing in me right from the start of my career. It is only because of everyone’s support I am able to achieve this feat. There has been lots of memories during this period.”
Also present for the occasion was former CAB Office Bearer and current chief curator Sujan Mukherjee.
