Bengal bows out after loss to Haryana in Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy

Bengal went down to Haryana by 24 runs in their final Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy Elite Group C match in Hyderabad on Monday.
With just 16 points from seven group games, having won four and lost three, Bengal’s hopes of making it to the next round are over.
Batting first, Haryana scored 191/9 in 20 overs. Nishant Sindhu top-scored with 48.
For Bengal, Md Shami was the pick of the bowlers bagging 4 for 30, while Akash Deep and Pradipta Pramanik claimed two each.
Chasing the target, Abishek Porel (47 off 24) and Writtick Chatterjee’s (44 off 33) knocks were not enough as Bengal fell short, scoring 167 in 20 overs.
