Gharami, Ankur power Mohun Bagan into
quarterfinals of First Div One-Day meet

Mohun Bagan AC outclassed Kolkata Union Sporting Club by 160 runs in the pre-quarterfinal match on Friday to seal a place in the quarterfinals of the First Division Senior Knockout One-Day Tournament.
Batting first, Mohun Bagan AC scored a challenging 339/3. Ankur Paul (94 off 78), Sudip Kumar Gharami (89 off 43), Ranjot Singh Khaira (62 off 39) were superb with the bat. Kaif Abbas bagged 2 wickets.
In reply, Kolkata Union Sporting Club managed to score only 179. Vivek Singh scored 64. Rohit Kumar, Sayan Ghosh, Pradeep Kumar and Sourav Halder bagged 2 wickets each.
The other seven pre-quarterfinal matches in the day, Bhowanipore Club vs Bhukailash Sporting Club, Barisha Sporting Club vs B.N.R Recreation Club, Kidderpore Sporting Club vs Aikya Sammilani, Town Club vs Police Athletic Club, Kalighat Club vs E.Rly Sports Association, Calcutta Customs Club vs Netaji Subhas Institute, East Bengal Club vs Calcutta Port Trust Sports Club were abandoned due to heavy overnight rain.
