In the CAB First Division Championship Pre-Quarterfinal matches on Sunday, both the bowlers and batters dominated on Day 2.
In the first match, riding on a brilliant unbeaten 200 by Subham Chatterjee, Kalighat Club outclassed Sporting Union by 427 runs. Kalighat Club posted 516. In reply, Sporting Union were bundled out for 89. Pritam Chakraborty (5-21) and Kaushik Maity (3-27) impressed with the ball.
In other matches, Avinash Yadav (5-51) and Masroor Haider Khan (4-46) helped Shambazar Club beat Tapan Memorial Club by 171 runs. Shambazar Club posted 304. Tapan Memorial Club were bundled out for 133.
Sumanta Gupta (81 not out), Ayush Kumar Singh (53 not out) helped Barisha Sporting Club beat Rajasthan Club by 7 wickets. Barisha Sporting Club bowled out Rajasthan Club for 230. In reply, Barisha Sporting Club scored 234/3.
Writtick Chatterjee (58 not out), Suraj Sindhu Jaiswal (6-55, 21) helped East Bengal Club beat Calcutta Police Club by 5 wickets. East Bengal Club bowled out Calcutta Police Club for 166. In reply, East Bengal Club scored 170/5.
Aishik Patel (112), Mithilesh Das (57), Trishul Das (43) helped Town Club post 419. Rajarshi Mitra bagged 5 for 129. In reply, Aryan Club were 162/3 at stumps, thanks to Shubham Saha (63 not out) and Viraj Krishna (50 not out).
Chinmay Jain (86), Abhishek Bose (80) helped Md Sporting Club beat Shibpur Institute by 8 wickets. Md Sporting Club bowled out Shibpur Institute for 199. In reply, Md Sporting Club scored 200/2.
Suvankar Bal (64), Shantanu (62), Ranjot Singh Khaira (50) helped Mohun Bagan AC beat Ballygunge United Club by 7 wickets. Mohun Bagan AC bowled out Ballygunge United Club for 198. In reply, Mohun Bagan AC scored 199/3.
