In the CAB Second Division League two-day encounters on Tuesday, both the bowlers and batters impressed on Day 1.
In the first match, Md Faisal Hussain Khan smashed a brilliant 235 off 222 balls while Anup Sanyashi (76) and Habib Aktar (61) also impressed as Victoria Sporting Club posted 491/7. For Albert Sporting Club, Shreeyesh Shrivastava and Showmajit Khaskel bagged 2 wickets each.
In other matches, Sparsh Mimani (151), Raushan Kumar (129), Sachin Yadav (57) batted superbly as Amateur Cricket Club posted 501/6. For Abasar, Isolt Roy bagged 3 for 126.
Dipanshu Sarkar bagged a superb 7 for 51 while Subhajit Naskar (84) impressed as Star Sporting Club beat Measurers Club by 108 runs. Star Sporting Club scored 228. Measurers Club scored just 120.
Amit Nagvanshi scored a fine 136 as Sarat Samity posted 320 at stumps. For Satya Sandhi, Rishikesh Rishi bagged 5 for 138.
Udit Yadav (118), Ashish Kumar (68) helped South Suburban Club post 369. Koustav Mandal, Vivek Kumar Shaw bagged 3 wickets each. In reply, High Court Club were 33/1 at stumps.
Debagni Basu (104), Ankit Mandal (4-74), Rakesh Mahata (4-67), Jayjeet Jaiswal (70) helped Calcutta Cricket Club beat Greer Sporting Club by 2 wickets. Greer Sporting Club scored 260, thanks to Sarfaraz Alam (103). Calcutta Cricket Club scored 263/8. Dhiraj Kumar Pandey bagged 4 wickets.
Ajay Yadav bagged 6 for 28 while Pratyush Kr Singh scored 67 as Calcutta University Institute beat Bani Niketan Sports Club by 5 wickets. Bani Niketan Sports Club scored just 164. Calcutta University Institute scored 165/5.
Friends Sporting Union’s Rohit Das bagged an impressive 5 for 35. Howrah Union posted 165. Friends Sporting Union posted 29/0 at stumps.
Atmaja Mondal (90), Shirsendu Maity (46) helped Taltala Ekata Sangha post 216. Munif Ahmed (5-82) and Adrivit Das (3-81) impressed. In reply, City AC scored 165/4 at stumps, thanks to Tripto Sur (53 not out) and Sourav Dey (51 not out).
