In the CAB First Division Super League Group A encounters on Thursday, the batsmen dominated the bowlers on Day 2.
In the first match, riding on a brilliant unbeaten 191 by Sumanta Gupta, Barisha Sporting Club posted a mammoth 529/7 in their first innings. Rajkumar Pal and Deepak Kumar bagged 3 wickets each. In reply, Bhowanipur Club scored 205/4 at stumps, thanks to Jayojit Basu (57) and Shakir Habib Gandhi (57 not out). Ankit Mishra bagged 2 wickets.
In other matches, Ankur Pal (188), Ranjot Singh Khaira (160), Shantanu (85) helped Mohun Bagan post 539/6 in their first innings. Sukhmeet Singh bagged 4 wickets. In reply, United Club were bundled out for 183. Arjun Bhardwaj scored 76. Anurag Tiwari and Sourav Halder bagged 4 wickets each.
Satyaki Dutta smashed a brilliant 132 as East Bengal Club posted 308/6 in their first innings at stumps. Akhilesh Yadav bagged 4 wickets. Earlier, Kidderpore Sporting Club posted 334 in their first innings.
Chinmay Jain (106 not out) and Sambit Roy (50 not out) helped Md. Sporting Club post 249/3 in their first innings at stumps. Rishabh Vivek bagged 2 wickets. Earlier, Prayas Ray Barman (56) helped Tapan Memorial Club post 334 in their first innings. For Md. Sporting Club, B Amit bagged 4 wickets.
Ankit Shukla (96), Md Arif Ansari (74) helped Calcutta Customs Club post 307/8 in their first innings at stumps. Amanjyot Singh bagged 3 wickets. In reply, Town Club were 4/0 at stumps.
