Abhimanyu to lead U23 side against AP
23rd October 2017
With the back to the wall Bengal U23 team will take on Andhra Pradesh with victory on their mind and a new skipper in Abhimanyu Easwaran.
After the sudden drop of form of Suvam Dey, Shubham Chatterjee and Irfan Ansari who have been dropped, the U-23 boys Abhimanyu Easwaran, Aamir Gani and Kanishk Seth who are already in the senior team have been called in to add muscle.
The four day affair for the U-23 COL C.K. Naidu trophy will be held in Bengal Cricket Academy Ground, Kalyani from 26th October to 30th of October, 2017.
"Whatever has happened taking into account the performance of the boys, is in the past and looking into it will do us no good. At present we have the best squad with the boys from Ranji making an entry into team. Moreover at Kalyani the boys will be facilitated by homely atmosphere and playing conditions. We are better equipped taking into account the amount of hard work and dedication the team has put in since the last three months," said coach Sourashish Lahiri when asked about his view on the upcoming match at Kalyani.
"While playing we have to stick around with each other like like a unit and I wish to give my best and contribute to the team's overall performance. Though the last two matches did not pan out the way it I wanted it to but I will definitely give my best on the field and do justice to the position I will be so allotted," said Abhimanyu Easwaran
