Gharami, Shami shine as Bengal enter
pre-quarterfinals of Vijay Hazare Trophy

Sudip Kumar Gharami missed out on scoring back-to-back tons by just a run while Mohammed Shami smashed a quick-fire knock as Bengal entered the pre-quarterfinals of the Vijay Hazare Trophy on Sunday.
Skipper Gharami’s 99 off 125 balls, Shami’s unbeaten 42 off 34 balls and Sudip Chatterjee’s 47 was not enough as Bengal went down to Madhya Pradesh by 6 wickets in their final group game in Hyderabad.
Batting first, Bengal scored 269/7 in 50 overs.
In reply, MP went over the line scoring 271/4 in 46.2 overs, thanks to Rajat Patidar (132 not out) and Shubham Sharma (99). Bengal’s Sayan Ghosh bagged 2 for 58.
