Atmaja (147), Sachin (104*) power Bengal to
498/8 in Vijay Merchant Trophy pre-quarterfinals

A dominant batting display powered Bengal Under-16 team to a mammoth 498/8 in their first innings at stumps on the third and penultimate day against Rajasthan in the pre-quarterfinals of the Vijay Merchant Trophy in Anand, Gujarat, on Sunday.
Atmaja Mondal (147), skipper Sachin Yadav (104 not out), Rajdip Khan (54) were superb with the bat as Bengal bagged the all-important first innings lead.
Agastya Shukla (27) and Aritra Chakraborty (20 not out) also impressed as Bengal lead by 207 runs.
Earlier, Bengal bowled out Rajasthan for 291 in their first innings.
