In the CAB First Division Super League Group A encounters on Tuesday, both the batters and bowlers dominated on Day 1.
In the first match, Vikas Singh (7-37) was brilliant with the ball as East Bengal Club bundled out Barisha Sporting Club for 163 in the first innings on Day 1. Kocher Laxya Manisbhai scored 41. In reply, East Bengal Club were 51/1 at stumps.
In other matches, Jesal Karia scored a fine 116 off 138 balls while Apurve Dwivedi (50) also impressed as Bhowanipore Club posted 307 in the first innings. For Mohun Bagan, Anurag Tiwari (6-114) and Sourav Halder (3-97) were superb with the ball. In reply, Mohun Bagan were 13/1 at stumps.
Writam Porel smashed a fine unbeaten 102 off 197 balls while Shreyansh Ghosh (51) also impressed as Kalighat Club posted 231/5 in the first innings at stumps. For Town Club, Yudhajit Guha bagged 3 for 57.
Aditya Purohit (50) and Sambit Roy (30 not out) helped Mohammedan Sporting Club post 119/5 in the first innings at stumps. For Calcutta Customs Club, Sandipan bagged 3 for 32.
