Ram (107, 1-33), Md Jiyauddin (101), Rohit (6-20) star in Mayor's Cup pre-quarters

In the seven pre-quarterfinal matches played on Wednesday in the Mayor’s Cup cricket league-cum-knockout tournament, both the batters and bowler dominated.
In the first pre-quarterfinal match, Ram Sen (107, 1-33), Aadit Bhanja Chaudhury (3-37) helped Nava Nalanda High School beat Purba Barasat Adarsha Vidyapith by 62 runs. Batting first, Nava Nalanda scored 254/9. In reply, Purba Barasat Adarsha Vidyapith scored 192.
In other matches, Md Jiyauddin Ansari (101 not out), Ujan Roy (3-3) helped Howrah Vivekananda Institution beat Purbanchal Vidya Mandir by 134 runs. Batting first, Howrah scored 268/5. In reply, Purbanchal scored 134.
Rohit Roy (6-20) bagged an impressive hat-trick while Bhim Chowdhury (3-5) impressed as Infocus India Public School beat Delhi Public School Ruby Park by 4 wickets. Batting first, DPS scored only 68. In reply, Infocus India Public School scored 69/6.
Hrishikesh Kumar Singh (95, 3-48), Ramandeep Bhalla (72) helped Ratnakar North Point School beat Tirthapati Institution by 14 runs. Koushik Bouri bagged four wickets. Batting first, Ratnakar North Point School scored 230/8. In reply, Tirthapati Institution scored 216/8.
Piyush Karan (91, 3-35), Anurag Chakraborty (70) helped St Johns Public School beat South Point High School by 146 runs. Batting first, St Johns scored 291. In reply, South Point scored 145.
Farhan Semim (81), Srayan Chaudhuri (2-23) helped Aditya Academy Sr Secondary beat Delhi Public School New Town by 2 wickets. Batting first, DPS scored 223/7. In reply, Aditya Academy Sr Secondary scored 227/8. Abhradeep Dutta scored 77 also bagging 2 wickets. Aryan Singh bagged 4 wickets.
Ankit Pramanick (54, 1-15), Sanmukh Singh (3-43), Subhra Kamal Halder (88) helped Cathedral Mission High School beat Midnapore Collegiate School by 71 runs. Sunayan Ata scored a brilliant 101 off 72. Cathedral Mission High School scored 284/7. In reply, Midnapore Collegiate School scored 213.
