Saxena runs riot as Kerala seize advantage

Chasing 248 made by Kerala, Himachal were reduced to 198 for 8 on the second day of the Ranji Trophy tie here at Eden Gardens.
P Chopra (60) and AK Bains (22) gave Himachal Pradesh a good start reaching 74, before Bains departed. Thereafter Himachal lost the plot frittering away to 198 for 8 at the end of the second day. Among the bowlers, Jalaj S Sexena of Kerala did the damage by taking five for 53 in 16 overs. S Sandeep Warrier, Iqbal Abdulla, and, KS Monish also bowled well with one wicket each.
Earlier, Kerala resumed the day from 163 for 4 to finish their first innings at 248 in 107.1 overs. Sachin Baby who had a half century last day, couldn't carry long as he was trapped Ibw by Dagar at 61.
Among the Himachal bowlers, R. Dhawan was on top with 4 for 66 followed by G. Singh and MJ Dagar with two wickets each.
