Pawan (4-17) impress in CAB 1st Div One-Day meet

East Bengal Club, Kidderpore Sporting Club, Calcutta Customs Club, Bhowanipore Club and Town Club registered victories in their respective league-stage matches in the CAB First Division One-Day League-cum-knockout tournament on Saturday.
In the first match, Sandeep Tomar (84 off 58), Mithilesh Das (3-42), Aishik Patel (72), Naved Ahmad (58) helped Town Club beat Barisha Sporting Club by 3 wickets. Batting first, Sumanta Gupta scored a brilliant 100 off 89 balls to help Barisha Sporting Club post 285/8. In reply, Town Club scored 297/7. Balkesh Yadav bagged 3 for 44.
In other matches, Lalit Yadav (84, 1-52), Vaibhav Yadav (3-41), Aritra Chatterjee (2-19) impressed for Mohammedan Sporting Club while Bhowanipore Club’s Aamir Gani (52, 2-59), Ravi Kumar (3-28), Rajkumar Pal (2-16) starred as Bhowanipore Club beat Md Sporting Club by virtue of lesser number of wickets after the match ended on a tie. Batting first, Bhowanipore Club scored 202/8. In reply, Mohammedan Sporting Club scored 202/9.
Pawan Nirwani (11, 4-17), Uvais Ahmad (47 off 29), Arun Kumar Chaurasiya (2-16) helped Kidderpore Sporting Club beat Mohun Bagan AC by 4 wickets. Batting first, Mohun Bagan scored 120. In reply, Kidderpore Sporting Club scored 121/6. Vikas Singh (37) and Sanjay (3-31) also impressed.
Vikas Singh (3-20), Abhishek Das (29), Sumit Mohanta (3-15), Sayed Irfan Aftab (2-32) helped East Bengal Club beat United Club by 4 wickets. Batting first, United Club scored 105. In reply, East Bengal scored 106/6. Sukhmeet Singh and Irshad Alam bagged three wickets each.
Arikta Das (53 not out), Abhishek Tamang (3-40), Dilshad Khan (2-28), Sandipan (2-54), Souvick Ghosh (2-28) helped Calcutta Customs Club beat Tapan Memorial Club by 3 wickets. Batting first, Tapan Memorial Club scored 202. In reply, Calcutta Customs Club scored 206/7. Ramesh Prasad bagged 3 for 26.
