Akash Das (107) & Akash Verma (103) impress in J.C Mukherjee T20 meet

Police Athletic Club, Calcutta Port Trust Sports Club, Monohar Pukur Milan Samity, Sporting Union, Dalhousie Athletic Club, Aikya Sammilani, Calcutta Police Club, Netaji Subhas Institute registered comfortable victories in their respective group-stage matches in the J.C Mukherjee T20 Tournament on Thursday.
In the first match, Akash Das smashed a superb unbeaten 107 off 32 balls as Dalhousie Athletic Club beat Tollygunge Agragami by 48 runs. Batting first, Dalhousie A.C posted 223/3. In reply, Tollygunge Agragami scored 175/7. Faisal Alvi scored 73. Sunil Dalal bagged 2 for 36.
In the second match, Akash Verma scored a brilliant 103 off 59 balls to help Calcutta Police Club beat Rajasthan Club by 13 runs. Ravikanth Shukla (44), Sahil Roy (2-16) and Noman Manzoor (2-39) also impressed. Batting first, Calcutta Police Club scored 193/3. In reply, Rajasthan Club scored 180/5. Sharnik Banerjee scored 62.
In the third match, Arjun Singh (3-24), Payel Mondal (35), Saikat Hansda (2-16) helped Aikya Sammilani beat Aryan Club by 21 runs. Batting first, Aikya Sammilani scored 125/5. In reply, Aryan Club scored 104/9.
In the fourth match, Devendra Singh (64), Dipanjan Mukherjee (3-28) and Kailash Khawaria (3-26) helped Netaji Subhas Institute beat Paikpara Sporting Club by 26 runs. Sandeep Das bagged 3 for 21. Batting first, Netaji Subhas Institute posted 141. In reply, Paikpara Sporting Club scored 115.
In the fifth match, Debarghya Rakshit (63), Rahul Sen (53), Dharmender Sharma (2-20), Bidushman Guha (2-17) helped Monohar Pukur Milan Samity beat Belgachia United Club by 7 wickets. Batting first, Belgachia United Club scored 166/6. In reply, Monohar Pukur Milan Samity scored 167/3.
In the sixth match, Jayesh Kumar Singh (3-21), Sahityaa Hazra (39), Ankit Kumar (34, 2-23) helped Sporting Union beat Uttarpalli Milan Sangha by 6 wickets. Batting first, Uttarpalli Milan Sangha scored 145/7. In reply, Sporting Union scored 146/4.
In the seventh match, Ayush Ray (32), Anish Prasad (3-23) helped Police Athletic Club beat Anandabazar Patrika Sports Club by 2 wickets. Batting first, Anandabazar Patrika Sports Club scored 126/7. In reply, Police Athletic Club scored 127/8. Aditya Giri bagged 3 for 20.
In the eighth match, Sagar Sharma (56), Parvej Alam (3-16) helped Calcutta Port Trust Sports Club beat B.N.R Recreation Club by 3 wickets. Batting first, B.N.R Recreation Club scored 125/5. In reply, Calcutta Port Trust Sports Club scored 126/7.
