Ishan, Veer out for two matches at least
14th October 2016
Bengal will have to make two changes to their squad for now, albeit grudgingly.
While Ishan Porel has hurt his upper abdomen while bowling at the nets, Veer Pratap Singh has tested positive for dengue.
“I was bowling at the nets when I had overstretched hurting my upper abdomen. I really wanted to play and help Bengal win matches. But due to the injury I had to return last night”, Ishan told CAB media.
Asked about his rehab, he said: “Injury is a part and parcel of every fast bowler’s life. I am not thinking much about it. I will try to work hard and recover as early as possible.”
On the other hand Veer Pratap Singh has also returned with high fever last night. “This was a good opportunity for me to make my name by taking wickets. I had practiced very hard before the start of this tournament. I never thought I will not be playing because I will have dengue. Feeling very depressed this moment. Now my focus is to get proper treatment and return as fast as possible,” he said.
“Doctor has adviced rest for two weeks. And after that I will be doing another blood test. Hope I can recover soon and join practice after that ,” he concluded.
