400 players sign on opening day

The first day of the club transfers for the CAB was smoothly conducted at the B.C. Roy Club House premises here today with 400 players signing on the dotted lines. The transfer session was conducted over a four hour span from 12 noon till 4 pm.
The window for the subsequent transfers will be made available until 15th September, 2017. While some players renewed their contracts preserving their contractual stability with respective teams, others signed contracts with new clubs. Club officials, managers and coaches from various clubs were were also present during the transfers.
To name a few among the major transfers that were finalised today, Shreevats Goswami was transferred from Kalighat to Barisha, Amit Kuilla was transferred to Kalighat from Aikya Sammelani and Anustup Mazumdar signed a fresh contract with East Bengal, with his association with Mohun Bagan coming to a close.
"This year and I'll try to maintain consistent streak as I'll be playing for Barisha. This a big opportunity for me to be playing for this club and I feel privileged to be playing for a club Dadi (Sourav Ganguly) has played for" Shreevats said.
"This year the competition is a lot tougher it appears, but I'll try to keep in tune with the performance I was able to put up last year" Kuilla added.
Anustup Mazumdar in his statement about his transfer, said "Club cricket has been around since a long time and transfers are a part if it. I am happy to be signing a contract with East Bengal".
