Bhawanipore Club crowned champions of CAB First Division One-Day meet

A brilliant batting effort helped Bhawanipore Club outclass Barisha Sporting Club by 2 wickets in the final clash to emerge champions of the CAB First Division One-Day tournament at the Eden Gardens on Friday.
The star performers for Bhawanipore in the final were Uvais Ahmad (91), Vivek Singh (49), Jesal Karia (49), Ravi Kumar (3-43) and Aamir Gani (3-46).
While Avishek Porel’s superb 116 off 82 balls for Barisha Sporting went in vain.
Earlier, put into bat, Bhawanipore managed to post a competitive 313 in 49.4 overs. Besides Avishek, Priyank Patel scored a fine 53.
In reply, Bhawanipore Club chased the target down, scoring 314/8 in 49.3 overs.
For Barisha Sporting, Karan Lal (3-50) and Kanisk Seth (2-55) were the pick of the bowlers.
