Uvais slams 141 as Bhawanipore Club enter quarterfinals of CAB First Division One-Day meet

Uvais Ahmad scored a brilliant 141 off 63 balls as Bhawanipore Club beat Sporting Union by 8 wickets in the Pre-quarterfinal match to make their way into the quarterfinals of the CAB First Division One-Day league-cum-knockout tournament on Saturday. Vivek Singh scored a fine 59 while Rajkumar Pal bagged 3 for 37 for Bhawanipore. For Sporting Union, Sahityaa Hazra scored a fine 100.
In other matches, Pramod Chandila (94), Aditya Purohit (70), Nilkantha Das (3-28), Nitin Verma (3-40) helped Mohammedan Sporting Club beat Kidderpore Sporting Club by 7 wickets.
S Yadav (71), Avilin Ghosh (68), Toufik (3-20), Ishan Porel (2-28) helped Mohun Bagan beat Netaji Subhas Institute by 6 wickets.
Writam Porel (58), Ravi Kant Singh (2-16), Aman Singh (2-36) helped Kalighat Club beat Town Club by 5 wickets. Suprodip Debnath scored a fine 73.
