Ayan, Amit bag 3 each as East Bengal bowl out Mohun
Bagan for 189 in First Division League

East Bengal's Ayan Bhattacharya (3-37) and Amit Kuila (3-54) were impressive with the ball, but Mohun Bagan managed to take a vital first innings lead at the end of the second day in the high-octane CAB First Division League Group A match at the Eden Gardens on Thursday.
After bowling out East Bengal for 174 in their first innings, Mohun Bagan managed to score 189, thanks to Sudip Kumar Gharami (64). In reply, East Bengal, in their second innings, were 51/1 at stumps.
In the day’s second match, Dip Chatterjee smashed a superb unbeaten 153 as Mohammedan Sporting Club posted 391/7 decl to take a vital first innings lead against BNR Recreation Club. Pramod Chandila scored a fine 77. Argha Sengupta bagged three wickets. Earlier, BNR Recreation Club were bundled out for just 181. In their second innings, BNR Recreation were 32 for no loss at stumps.
In the day’s third match, Pradipta Pramanik (5-48, 5-20) bagged an impressive 10 wickets in the match as Bhawanipore Club remained just 37 runs away from a victory against Paikpara Sporting Club.
After bowling out Paikpara for 216 in their first innings, Bhawanipore managed to score just 208. Paikpara, in their second innings, were bundled out for just 82 in 25 overs to hand a 91-run target to Bhawanipore. At stumps, Bhawanipore were 54/1.
In the day’s fourth match, Sandipan and Poonish Mehta bagged three wickets each as Barisha Sporting Club bowled out Calcutta Custom Club for 144 in their first innings. Earlier, Barisha Sporting Club finished their first innings at 82/9 decl. While, Barisha Sporting Club, in their second innings, were 165/7 at stumps with a lead of 103 runs.
In the day’s fifth match, Kaushik Ghosh (94), Writam Porel (76) and B Amit (50 not out) helped Kalighat Club post 467/7 in their first innings. In reply, Tapan Memorial Club were 153/4 at stumps, thanks to Yogesh Kasyap (70 not out).
