Writtick (101), Sumit (5-19) put East Bengal in control
against Town Club in First Division League

A fine 101 by Writtick Chatterjee followed by an impressive bowling by Sumit Mohanta (5-19) helped East Bengal Club remain on top at end of Day 2 against Town Club in the CAB First Division League Group A match at the Eden Gardens on Monday.
Batting first, East Bengal managed to post 377/9 in their first innings, thanks to Writtick and Satyaki Dutta (93). For Town Club, Md Kaif (5-104) and Sujit Kumar Yadav (4-89) were impressed with the ball. In reply, Town Club were struggling at 102/7 at stumps on Day 2 in their first innings.
In other matches, Zeeshan Ansari smashed a superb unbeaten 100 to help Calcutta Custom Club post 208 in their first innings. For Bhawanipore Club, Alok Pratap Singh bagged five wickets. In reply, Bhawanipore were 2/1 at stumps on Day 1.
Agniva Mukhopadhyay (62) helped Paikpara Sporting Club post 188/5 in their first innings at stumps on Day 1. For BNR Recreation Club, Narayan Rana bagged two wickets.
