Yudhajit bags 7 as Bengal U-19 outclass Jharkhand in Cooch Behar Trophy

An outstanding bowling performance by Yudhajit Guha (7-23) powered Bengal Under-19 team to a commanding 68-run victory over Jharkhand in the Cooch Behar Trophy match in Ranchi on Monday.
Chasing 187 to win on Day 4, Jharkhand were bundled out for just 118 in 61.2 overs. Besides Yudhajit, Priyanshu Patel (1-50), Vishal Shaw (1-14) and Rahul Prasad (1-19) were impressive with the ball.
Earlier, resuming the day from overnight score of 270/5, Bengal managed to post 300 in their second innings to hand a 187-run target to Jharkhand. Aniket Biswas scored a fine 119 off 212 balls. For Jharkhand, Tanish bagged four wickets.
Chasing the tricky target, Jharkhand batters surrendered as Bengal bowlers led by Yudhajit were ruthless with the ball.
L Kaushik who scored a brilliant 144 in the first innings, was sent back for just 23 in the second. Losing wickets at regular intervals, Jharkhand were in deep trouble in the chase, thus losing the match.
Earlier, Bengal in their first innings posted 162. In reply, Jharkhand scored 276.
