Bengal U-15 Women down Maharashtra, enter semifinals of One-Day meet

Bengal Under-15 Women’s team stormed into the semifinals of the One-Day Trophy after a dominant 70-run victory over Maharashtra in the quarterfinal clash in Mohali on Sunday.
Batting first, Bengal managed to post 161/5 in 35 overs. Ratna Barman (63), skipper Ipsita Mondal (44) and Sandipta Patra (27) were impressive with the bat.
For Maharashtra, Ishwari Awasare bagged three wickets.
In reply, Maharashtra batters found the going tough as Bengal bowlers were ruthless with the ball.
Losing wickets at regular intervals, Maharashtra were in a spot of bother at 44/5 inside 13 overs.
However, Akshaya Jadhav (31) held the innings firmly at one end but the Bengal bowlers were clinical in getting the much-needed breakthroughs to bundle out the opposition for just 91 in 25.4 overs.
Anjaly Barman (2-9), Priyanka Goldar (2-10), Ipsita (1-8), Debjani Das (1-19), P Mahato (1-4) and K Chinky (1-12) were superb with the ball for Bengal.
