Bengal goes down to Assam in Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 pre-quarters

Bengal senior men’s team went down fighting to Assam by 8 wickets in the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy pre-quarterfinal clash in Mohali on Tuesday.
Batting first, Bengal managed to post 138/8 in 20 overs. Karan Lal (24) and Abishek Porel (23) top-scored for Bengal.
Akash Sengupta (3-29) was the pick of the bowlers for Assam.
In reply, Assam went over the line comfortably, scoring 142/2 in 17.5 overs, thanks to Riyan Parag (50 not out) and Bishal Roy (45 not out).
For Bengal, Mukesh Kumar and Shahbaz Ahmed bagged a wicket each.
