Confident Bengal face Assam in Syed Mushtaq Ali pre-quarters

A confident Bengal senior men’s team will aim to go all guns blazing to book a place in the last-eight stage when they take on Assam in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy pre-quarterfinal clash in Mohali on Tuesday.
The Laxmi Ratan Shukla-coached side finished in the second position, registering four wins from six games in the Group stage.
Bengal outclassed Rajasthan, followed by Pondicherry, Uttarakhand, and Jharkhand to have their spirits sky-high ahead of the knockouts.
Bengal batters Abhimanyu Easwaran, skipper Sudip Kumar Gharami, and Abishek Porel will once again look to make a big impact while the bowling department will rely on Akash Deep, Ishan Porel, Shahbaz Ahmed.
Ahead of the match, Bengal coach Saurasish Lahiri said, “We have played a good brand of cricket in the group stage. We have ticked all our boxes so far. For the match against Assam, we are confident of giving our best to come out victorious.”
On the other hand, Assam won five out of seven games while losing two in the group stage. Against Bengal, the team will heavily rely on their in-form batsman Riyan Parag to fire for them.
