Calcutta Port Trust Sports Club crowned 2nd Div One-Day champions

Riding on a brilliant 73-ball 125 by Dipak Prasad, Calcutta Port Trust Sports Club outclassed Ballygunge Sporting Association by 93 runs in the final to emerge champions in the CAB 2nd Division One-Day league cum knockout tournament on Friday.
Batting first, Calcutta Port Trust posted a massive 386/9 in 47 overs.
In reply, Ballygunge Sporting Association managed to score 293/9 in 48.2 overs.
Earlier, put into bat, Calcutta Port Trust found themselves in a spot of bother at 44/4 in 10 overs.
But against the run of play, Dipak partnering with Anup Kumar Barick (75) played superbly to bail their team out of trouble as Calcutta Port Trust crossed the 200-run mark in style.
After their dismissal, Sk. Md Shahrukh (50) and Joydeep Roy (45 not out) scored freely at the end as Calcutta Port Trust put up a commanding total.
Kishan Kumar (4-29) was the pick of the bowlers for Ballygunge.
Chasing a massive target, Ballygunge lost both openers inside 10 overs with just 35 on the board.
But, despite a fine effort by Syed Moinuddin (92 off 79) along with Alapan Halder (59), Meghdut Naskar (41) and Salman Khan (34), Ballygunge fell short of the target.
Monomit Mitra bagged four wickets while Joydeep took two for Calcutta Port Trust.
