Town's Sandeep hits 118, but Kalighat take massive lead in 1st Div meet final

Town Club's Sandeep Tomar scored a much-needed 118 but Kalighat Club were in a commanding position with a huge second-innings lead at stumps on Day 4 in the First Division Championship pink-ball D/N final at the Eden Gardens on Sunday.
In reply to Kalighat's first innings total of 480, Town Club managed to score 293, thus handing Kalighat a big lead.
Besides Sandeep, Naved Ahmad (57) and Ompal Boken (56) made useful contributions with the bat for Town.
For Kalighat, Pritam Chakraborty (3-51), Vikas Singh (3-57), and B Amit (3-39) were the pick of the bowlers.
While Kalighat, in their second innings, were 108 for no loss at the end of the fourth and penultimate day, enjoying a massive 295-run lead. Ranjot Singh Khaira (60 not out) and Shreyansh Ghosh (44 not out) were at the crease.
Earlier, resuming the day from overnight score of 152/4, Town Club managed to add just three runs before Saksham Chaudhary (13) fell to Pritam.
Against the run of play, Sandeep and Boken stitched together a vital 111-run partnership for the sixth wicket to bail Town out of trouble.
But after the dismissal of the duo, Town's innings folded in quick time.
