Ravikanth Shukla smashed a superb match-winning 218 as Mohammedan Sporting Club registered a famous five-wicket victory against Bhawanipore Club in the Quarterfinals of the CAB First Division Play-Off Championship on Sunday. Batting first, Kaushik Ghosh (191) helped Bhawanipore Club post 501. In reply, Md. Sporting chased down the target comfortably, scoring 505/5. Vikas scored a fine 87.
In other matches, Town Club beat Mohun Bagan A.C by 1 wicket. Batting first, Subham Sarkar (87 not out) and Uvais Ahmad (60) helped Mohun Bagan A.C post 546/9 against Town Club. Md Kaif bagged four wickets. In reply, Md Kaif (96) and Naved Ahmad (92) helped Town Club chase down the mammoth target, scoring 552/9.
Kalighat Club beat East Bengal Club by 88 runs. Batting first, Kalighat Club managed to post 285, thanks to Shreyansh Ghosh (100). Susanta Das bagged four wickets. In reply, despite a fine 106 by Amritoze Singh, East Bengal Club were bowled out for 197. Vikas Singh bagged four wickets.
Karan Lal (7-52 & 63 not out) displayed an all-round show to help Barisha Sporting Club beat Aryan Club by 8 wickets. Batting first, Aryan Club were bundled out for 129. In reply, Barisha Sporting chased down the target, scoring 133/2.
