Akshit bags 8 as City A.C win in 2nd Div meet Round 1

Akshit Pandey (8-71) was superb with the ball as City A.C defeated Alipore Sporting Club by 13 runs in the Round 1 of the CAB Second Division two-day league cum knockout tournament on Thursday. Batting first, City A.C scored 171. Mayank Jha top-scored with 39 runs. In reply, Alipore Sporting Club were bundled out for just 158.
In other matches, Ranjan Saha (7-84) was excellent with the ball as Jorabagan Club beat Measerers Club by 56 runs. Jahir Ahammed (70) helped Jorabagan Club post 214/5. Amit Pathak bagged three wickets. In reply, Measerers Club were bundled out for 158.
Greer Sporting Club beat Sarat Samity by 4 wickets. Pranab Prasad (7-56) was superb with the ball as Greer Sporting Club bundled out Sarat Samity for 161. Sachin Rajak top-scored with 58 runs. Greer Sporting Club were handed a target of 125 runs in 65 overs. Greer Sporting chased it down, scoring 127/6 in 27.1 overs. Nirmal Acharjee top-scored with 52 runs.
Cricket Club of Bhavanipore beat Victoria Sporting Club by 7 wickets. Suman Dey (6-51) was excellent with the ball as Victoria Sporting Club were bowled out for 158. Sumit Yadav top-scored with 51 runs. Cricket Club of Bhavanipore were handed a target of 89 runs in 47 overs. Bhavanipore chased it down, scoring 90/3 in 17.2 overs.
