Avijit Mukherjee scored a brilliant 200 while Amrit Raj Upadhyay (4-85) was impressive with the ball as United Club defeated Kumartuli Institute by 305 runs in the Qualifier 1 of the CAB 1st Division Group B & C two-day league cum knockout tournament on Friday. Batting first, United Club posted 512/8. In reply, Kumartuli Institute were bundled out for 207.
In other matches, Tanujit Acharjee (143) and Debtanu Baidya (6-21) displayed a superb show with the bat and ball as Sporting Union beat Ballygunge United Club by 192 runs. Batting first, Sporting Union posted 290. In reply, Ballygunge United Club were bundled out for just 98.
Abhijit Mal (177), Ankit Shukla (134) and Agnibesh Gupta (5-53) helped Rajasthan Club beat YMCA (College Brunch) by 270 runs. Batting first, Rajasthan Club managed to post 479. In reply, YMCA (College Brunch) were bowled out for 209.
Anuj Kumar Singh (103) and Rajarshi Mitra (8-94) were outstanding with the bat and ball as Aryan Club beat Wari Athletic Club by 66 runs. Batting first, Aryan Club posted 298. In reply, Wari Athletic Club were bowled out for 232.
