KKR aim to bounce back with win against in-form RCB
5th April 2023
Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) will aim to bounce back from their loss to Punjab Kings when they come up against an in-form Royal Challengers Bangalore in the IPL clash at the Eden Gardens on Thursday.
The Kolkata-based side went down in the season opener by 7 runs while RCB outclassed Mumbai Indians by 8 wickets.
With Shreyas Iyer out with injury, the KKR team's combination suffered a body blow and the Nitish Rana-led side will have to be at their best to go past the Bangalore-based side.
The Chandrakanth Pandit-coached side will have to step up both in the batting and bowling department. The team will be playing in their own den and it will surely be a big boost for the side.
The team went down to Punjab on DLS method after rain stopped play but a few good knocks by the batters will give them a lot of confidence going into the match against RCB.
In the batting department, opener Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Ventatesh Iyer, who looked in fine touch against Punjab will aim to score big at home along with skipper Rana and Mandeep Singh.
All-rounder Andre Russell will also look to deliver both with the bat and ball and entertain the home fans.
In the bowling department, the experienced Tim Southee, Umesh Yadav and Sunil Narine will need to bowl in the right areas against a strong RCB batting line-up.
On the other hand, RCB batters Virat Kohli and skipper Faf du Plessis will look to continue their form and help team bag successive victories in the campaign.
