Shaheed scores superb 224 for Calcutta University

Riding on a superb unbeaten 224 by Shaheed Marandi, Calcutta University Institute scored a massive 455/7 at stumps on Day 1 against Narkeldanga Sir Gooroodas Institute in the CAB Second Division two-day league cum knockout tournament on Monday. Aditya Mondal also scored a fine 84 while Masud Ajhar bagged four wickets.
In other matches, Abhishek Nath (139) helped Taltala Ekata Sangha post 326. Ajay Yadav bagged five wickets. In reply, Victoria Sporting Club were 54/2 at stumps.
Soumyajit Mandal (120) and Sanjit Sardar (101 not out) helped Cricket Club of Bhavanipore post 445/7 at stumps against Behala Friends Union Club.
International Club beat Bantra Cricket Club by 2 wickets. Batting first, Bantra were bowled out for 146, thanks to Bhupinder Singh (6-75). In reply, Ranjit Sah (62) helped International Club chase it down, scoring 149/8.
Sahapur Sporting Club beat Sarat Samity by 7 wickets. Sarat Samity were bundled out for just 100. Sudip Talukder, Sourav Paul and Sumit Pandit bagged three wickets each. In reply, Sahapur chased it down, scoring 101/3.
Raj Sahini (98) helped Satya Sandhi post 257. Arghya Dutta bagged five wickets while Sandeep Das claimed four. In reply, WB Association of the Deaf were 6/1 at stumps.
