Ankur's superb 224 helps East Bengal grab first
innings lead in Super League 1st Div match

Ankur Pal smashed a superb 224 along with S Yadav (123) as East Bengal Club grabbed first innings lead after their CAB Super League First Division Group A match against Shambazar Club ended in a draw on Saturday. Shambazar Club scored 370 in their first innings. In reply, East Bengal Club managed to post a massive 585/6 in their first innings. While Shambazar Club, in their second innings, were 36/1 at stumps on third and final day.
In other matches, Tapan Memorial Club took first innings lead after their match against Paikpara Sporting Club ended in a draw. Tapan Memorial Club bowled out Paikpara Sporting Club for 232 in their first innings. Earlier, Tapan Memorial posted 301 in their first innings. Tapan Memorial, in their second innings, were 260/8 decl at stumps.
Kalighat Club took first innings lead after their match against Mohun Bagan AC ended in a draw. Sudip Kumar Gharami (167) and Subham Chatterjee (137 not out) batted superbly to help Kalighat Club post 491/3 decl. in their first innings. In reply, Mohun Bagan A.C. were bundled out for 162 in their first innings. Following on, Mohun Bagan were 249/4 at stumps. Uvais Ahmad scored a fine 90.

In reply, Town Club were bowled out for 313 in their first innings. Abhijeet Bhagat scored a fine 89 while Ankit Mishra bagged five wickets.
Bhawanipore Club took first innings lead after their match against Calcutta Customs Club ended in a draw. Bhawanipore Club scored 284 in their first innings.
