Vikas bags 5 as Kalighat Club win big in Super League 1st Div match

A fine effort by the bowlers helped Kalighat Club outclass Paikpara Sporting Club by an innings and 39 runs on Day 2 in the CAB Super League First Division Group A match at the Aditya Academy, Barasat on Thursday.
After bowling Paikpara out for just 47 in their first innings, Kalighat managed to post 180. Abhishek Mitra (38) top-scored for Kalighat while Siddharth Singh (5-43) was the pick of the bowlers for Paikpara.
In reply, Paikpara, in their second innings, were bundled out for just 94 to lose the match by a big margin. Vikas Singh (5-18) was superb with the ball for Kalighat.
In the day’s other matches, Tapan Memorial Club posted 354 in their first innings against Shambazar Club at the 22-Yards SP School Ground. In reply, Shambazar Club were bowled out for 192, thanks to Ramesh Prasad (3-22).
Vivek Singh (166 not out) helped Bhawanipore Club post 455/8 in their first innings against Mohun Bagan A.C at the JU 2nd Campus Ground. In reply, Mohun Bagan were 184/7 at stumps. Pradipta Pramanik bagged three wickets.
Police Athletic Club scored 249 against East Bengal Club in their first innings at the Bengal Cricket Academy, Kalyani. Samik Karmakar (86) and Aditya Sharma (60) were superb with the bat. Akash Pandey (4-75) impressed with the ball. In reply, East Bengal Club were 218/2 at stumps. Amitoze Singh (77 not out) played a fine knock.
Barisha Sporting Club managed to post 238 in their first innings against Calcutta Customs Club at the Deshbandhu Park Ground. Agniv Pan (72) and Arindam Ghosh (55) were the pick of the batsmen. In reply, Calcutta Customs Club were bowled out for 145, thanks to Anurag Tiwari (7-26). Barisha Sporting, in their second innings, were 58/4 at stumps.
