Bengal girls make it big in inaugural Women's Premier League auction

Bengal girls Richa Ghosh, Deepti Sharma, Titas Sadhu, Priyanka Bala, Shaika Ishaque and Dhara Gujjar, who went under the hammer made it count by bagging big deals from respective franchises at the inaugural Women's Premier League auction held on Monday.
After the Under-19 T20 World Cup triumph took women's cricket to new heights in the country, the seven girls from Bengal making their way into the five franchises for the cash-rich T20 tournament was no less than a momentous occasion for all.
Among the Bengal girls, all-rounder Deepti Sharma fetched the most after being bought by UP Warriorz for a whooping 2.6 crores.
While Richa, who played a vital role in Indian U-19 team winning the T20 World Cup, was picked up for a massive 1.9 crores by Royal Challengers Bangalore.
The Siliguri-girl, who also played a handy knock to help India beat Pakistan in the T20 World Cup opener on Sunday, will be playing under the leadership of Smriti Mandhana.
Also U-19 T20 World Cup final star Titas Sadhu, who impressed all by his bought by Delhi Capitals, fetched 25 Lakhs.
The Bengal women trio of Dhara Gujjar, Saika Ishaque and Priyanka Bala will be playing for Mumbai Indians in the forthcoming league.
Dhara and Saika was bought for 10 Lakhs while Priyanka bagged 20 lakhs.
