Jammu Kashmir take vital first innings lead against Bengal U-25

Bengal Under-25 team kept fighting but Shubham Singh Pundir (189) and Yawer Hassan (102 not out) handed Jammu Kashmir a vital first innings lead in the Col C K Nayudu Trophy clash at the Hostel Ground JKCA in Jammu on Tuesday.
Jammu Kashmir posted 390 in their first innings, in reply to Bengal's score of 253, which gave the home side a crucial first innings lead.
While Bengal, in their second innings, were 59/1 at stumps on Day 3, still trailing by 78 runs.
Earlier, resuming the day from overnight score of 244/5, Shubham and Yawer batted superbly to add 143 runs in the morning and 242 runs for the sixth wicket to put the home side in a strong position.
In his 388-ball innings, Shubham struck 16 boundaries. Yawer gave him a good support while bringing up his century in style.
But after the dismissal of Shubham with team's score at 387, Bengal got rid of the tail in no time as the rest four wickets fell for just 3 runs.
For Bengal, Kaushik Maity bagged three wickets while Prayas Ray Barman and Vikas Singh claimed two each.
In reply, Bengal in their second innings began strongly with Yuvraj Keswani (27) and Ayush Kumar Singh (18) unbeaten at the end of the day's play after the dismissal of Ankur Paul (5).
