win in 1st Div two-day meet

Mohit Kalyan’s unbeaten 201 went in vain as Sporting Union chased down Wari Athletic Club’s mammoth score in style to win by seven wickets on Day 2 in the CAB 1st Division two-day league cum knockout tournament on Monday.
Batting first, Wari Athletic Club posted a massive 383/8 on Day 1, thanks to Mohit.
In reply, riding on twin centuries by Sahityaa Hazra (155 not out) and Tanujit Acharjee (104 not out), Sporting Union chased the target down easily scoring 384/3.
In the day’s second match, BNR Recreation Club beat Kolkata Union Sporting Club by 153 runs.
Rahul Sen (79) helped BNR Recreation Club post 319. In reply, Kolkata Union were bundled out for 166, thanks to Anirban Gupta (5-67).
In the day’s third match, Tollygunge Agragami beat Bhukailash Sporting Club by 5 wickets.
Bhukailash Sporting Club posted 229. In reply, Tollygunge Agragami chased it down scoring 235/5, thanks to Shrideep Ganpat Mangela (65).
In the day’s fourth match, Monohar Pukur Milan Samity beat George Telegraph Sports Club by 3 wickets.
Abhijit Biswas (5-91) helped Monohar Pukur Milan Samity bowl George Telegraph out for 251. In reply, Abhijit Biswas (74) guided Monohar Pukur past the total, down scoring 256/7.
